Emily Henrys’ books are always well written, but Funny Story in particular was so fun to read. You can list all the common romance tropes in this story, but in no way does it feel overdone.

Emily Henry always does it right! I read Funny Story in a single day and it was the right combination of self-deprecating, comedic and heart-warming. I love how she built up Daphne's and Miles relationship, I was truly giggling and kicking my feet at some moments between them. I appreciated the deeper sentiment alluded to throughout the book regarding not having your whole world and personality revolve around anyone else in an effort to not lose yourself once they are no longer in your life.

The second book I read of Emily Henry and it is messy in the best way.

I love the growth in this book especially Daphne's since I wasn't too keen on her and her struggles. I just don't relate to her and that's okay. She had other facets in her life that I love like her passion for libraries. I freaking love Miles 10/10 no notes. The supporting cast in this book is so heart-warming and fleshed out.

I have little nitpicks about the plot but I was squealing, giggling, kicking, and screaming at every big moment. I could not put it down. What a fun story indeed.

Meeep loved this.

Chemistry was awesome, and the book was sexy.

It ran a little bit long however, and the ending was messy. This is what happens with all her books, once they get together she forces conflict that seems hamfisted in there. Miles' logic made zero sense and it doesn't explain why he abandoned her FOR DAYS.

I think Daphne was not the best friend to Ashleigh, and she seemed more concerned about Miles than her friend than she hurt. She's definitely a WE person.

Overall a fun light read, but their traumas didn't quite convince me on how they were acting and the book had a lot of show don't tell.
