Miles and Daphne's story was great, I loved their dynamic so much. Some of the banter Emily has written imo!

I’ve read quite a few of Henry’s novels and it’s hard to distinguish between them. They follow the same arc, the female mc is a self-loating/self-deprecating fixer/co-dependent and the male mc is an emotionally constipated commitment-phobe who lacks direction in life. Neither has any hobbies or interests besides getting drunk, or anything unique that makes them stand out. All of the main and supporting characters are in their mid-30s but possess the emotional maturity, self-awareness, and communication skills of teenagers. They get into romantic relationships in lieu of therapy and don’t get me started on the logistically confusing sex scenes. That is this and every other Emily Henry book in a nutshell.
Fine for a giggle or palette cleanser but don’t expect much depth, nuance or anything that breaks the mold or strays from her formula.

Woah, finally an emily henry book i actually finished and liked. This actually felt like people actually having conversations, living life and including us in there daily life. I still think her fmc comes up a bit too needy and pushy at times but the writing style and the plot was so much better and i hope she continues to grow .
