This book is very similar to ACOMAF, but with Nesta in it. I might be scared to read some long books but not by SJM.

I love a mental health troupe and Cassian and Nesta have an amazing love story. I appreciated that this book wasn’t geared towards YA audience. It made the themes hit harder and the parallelism to ACOMAF showed that.

why couldn't they just call the babe a baby. like everytime i read that word: cringeee.

also i think the ending was hurried. like briallyn was this big looming presence but in the end she was present for like one chapter. sjm just needed a villain for nesta to conquer.

loved nesta's journey. although her beating depression with meditation was annoying. because i know it hasn't worked for me so im jealous she was able to do that. ah yes, and with rigorous exercise. sjm's take on healing depression is this book basically. have a good book, train, meditate and have friends. oh yeah and kill a couple of people.

This book was emotional, and hopeful for those of us who have ever felt powerless. I love the strong female characters with the hearts of the broken and the determination of the warriors before them. I also loved getting to delve further into the “cold” oldest Archeron sister Nesta! I wanna be a “Valkyrie” so bad!
