Honestly a miracle I made it that far. I guess I was just waiting to see what kind of ✨ unique special power ✨ the main character would have. To me, it read like a not all that good fan fic of Crescent City (Sarah J. Maas) which was not one of my favourite reads either.

I fucking loved this book. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. It didn’t quite quite give me the 5 star feeling but I Absolutly adored this book and it’s possible the rating could go up the more I think about it. Some for he twists knocked me out of the part but I felt like I worked out a lot on my own which is why I think I didn’t give it the 5 stars but omf I love them so much I could die. Absolutly sobbing

This was a good time - it's not a great literary epic, but I really enjoyed it as a palette cleanser read. I didn't quite get the chemistry between the two main characters and the slow burn felt contrived but if you want a fun read which isn't much of a thinker (and I do mean that as a compliment, we all need those books every so often) this is a good option

The world building was fine. The mystery and reveal were good but this dragged a bit for me. If it wasn’t a book club read, I’m not sure I would’ve finished. The best part of the book is the last thirty percent because you finally find out what’s going on. And that’s fine. 70% into the book is usually when things are awesome. It just took too long to get there. This book was 736 pages and I just think there are parts that could’ve been removed. Just my opinion, most people love this book.
