I was intrigued by the description of the book so I selected it as my Book of the Month pick and I’m glad I did! It’s not so much a thriller as it is a story about corporate America and a woman’s place within it and all that she juggles to succeed in it. The spy pieces definitely kept the story moving as did the shifting character voices. I was pleased with how the ending landed as I felt it was in keeping with the trajectory of the book.
Not worth reading. Don’t understand the point of logan. Also a lot of build up for not a lot of action. The book drags on and the characters are flat. The plot is too simple. Would not recommend
The idea for the story is interesting but not very well executed. It's about a Russian spy working in a huge tech company in Silicon Valley, showing how fragile most tech companies are. Had too many characters and following the plot wasn't always the best but also felt a bit unnecessary.

So much potential. I enjoyed the story well enough, but it was a little too fractured. It could have had so much more tension and suspense and instead it just kinda played out the way you knew it would.
This novel was my first pick from Book of the Month, and it did not disappoint! The novel had an interesting plot and brilliant satire on the way women are treated in the workplace as well as on America. However, it made me long for more from each of the characters and more action. The characters were complex and real, allowing me to both sympathize with them and criticize them. Overall, it was a good book and a quick read.

Being a lady in Silicon Valley tech seems intense, as is being a Russian spy. Interesting to see the different trajectories of Julia and Alice, as they deal with a patriarchal environment. Surprisingly enjoyed.
DNF at about 25%. This is the second time I’ve tried to pick this book up. I even tried it on audio and I am just bored. Sadly this book just doesn’t work for me.
I pushed to 100 pages because I thought that it might get better and I might like it. I really liked the idea of it but when I got to about 125 and I realized that I just didn't care about any of the characters or anything that happened in this world I decided to move on to stories that I was more excited for.
