A very cute, very light, slice-of-life, coming-of-age story. I think it really captured how a single summer can change you when you’re this young.

Lovely. Captures the complexities of being an eighth grader amidst shifting friendships.

Summer has just begun. Bina is excited to start the Summer Fun Index with her friend Austin, just as they have since they were eight. That is, until Austin announces that he’ll spend the first month of summer at soccer camp.
Bina must entertain herself while he’s gone. She makes friends with Austin’s sister by chance, when they learn they like some of the same obscure bands.
When Austin returns, the best friends struggle to fall back into a familiar groove. But the summer break has helped Bina understand what her own “thing” is—music. The book is about growing up, staying friends, and finding yourself—even when you’d rather hide behind others.
ALL SUMMER LONG is heart-warming and cool all at the same time. In a genre that is often predictable and overdramatic, ALL SUMMER LONG is completely genuine. I highly recommend it for graphic novel-lovers!

Pretty short little read that captured a lot of the feels of that transition period before becoming a teenager. I liked all the references to different LA spots.
I guess I am the type of person to like coming of age stories now? Kinda wild, never thought I would be there.
This story felt really cute, it is about reevaluating what friendship means to you and going out to meet your idols, which then changes your life a bit. I loved the way it was paced, the way the first week just went by and the next ones stayed there for a longer time. This was a really nice story, if you got nothing to do and wanna read a pretty short graphic novel - just go read this one, it is really good.
This is a graphic novel that really captures the awkwardness of childhood friendships growing apart and figuring out who you are as leave behind everything that's familiar and safe about being a kid. I felt the author captures the pain and confusion well and would recommend this book to middle schoolers looking for a tiny bit more depth and reflection than Guts.
