Bina's best friend goes to soccer camp for a month, leaving her lonely in his absence. She strikes up an unexpected friendship with his older sister, bonding over music. But will that friendship end when Austin returns and Bina wonders if Austin is still her friend as he no longer returns her texts.

A quick MG graphic novel about friendship and finding your identity. The artwork is good and is colored with that monochromatic style that's so hot right now. The coloring is well done though and the warm orange values fit the summer theme.

My only question is....why does her BF Austin look so much like her Dad?

Summer for the tween rock nerds -- are rock nerds a thing? I think so. Aaaaaallllll about uncomfortable 13, learning the new dynamic with your friends and their siblings and finding out your things and how bored is ok. Nothing profound, but a great representation.

This is a sweet and encouraging coming-of-age story. Bina's thirteen and trying to figure out how to navigate the changing waters of her friendships and who she is as a person. Larson does a great job of demonstrating how one summer can be an eternity when you're thirteen.

A good summer read. Upper MG or younger YA since a few themes like boyfriends and summer jobs seem too old for the under 12 crowd.

Everything :01 puts out is perfect. They are that rare publisher that creates things that a kid can read and enjoy and a parent can read and enjoy. Just terrific stuff.

Really cute comic. Perfect summer vibes (not that I've ever experienced anything like this). Nice friendship/coming of age (or of teenage) story. That's all I have to say.
