I actually finished this a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a pretty good book. I am looking forward to see if he will actually continue the story.

Really, this one is 2 1/2 stars.
This is the only book I have on the kindle app on my phone. I really only read it when I found myself waiting somewhere unexpectedly with nothing to do. I put it down for weeks at a time without giving it a second thought: that in itself says something. It was interesting enough to finish, but there wasn't really enough character development to drive the action. I felt like this one was all action with little plot. But, the hints at the plot are there - the future books in the series could end up developing the story line and being great. I got this one for free, if the second one is less than $3 I'll probably give it a try (at some point) and then decide from there if I want to finish the series. Note: the ending was abrupt and didn't really conclude like you would hope a series installment would, but I can't truly say that it was such a cliffhanger you have to read the next to get an ending. Overall, better than "meh" but not good enough to really recommend - too much action, not enough plot but enough potential to move from 2 stars to 2 1/2 stars.
