I read Book 1, Cute but Psycho, a few years ago and really enjoyed the unhinged world Hollow created in Verafallen Asylum. So, I was very interested in seeing how that world continued with new/old characters and dynamics. Cause CBP ended insane, lmao.
Stein, Zero as we learn in book 2, gripped my interested immediately. There was such a mystery in who and what he was, and this book lived up to delivering the answers to those questions. Yes he is Murder Daddy and WHAT OF IT! I loved the relationship, the growth, and rawness of Hazel, Zero, and Gonzo a lot. They are a true unit together. I especially love how everyone is included fully and not just for sexual gratification. TRUE POLYAM THANK FUCK!
Yes I fucking cried at the last few chapters (iykyk) and you can eat my ass. It hurt okay. I'm so pumped to see how book 3 concludes this series cause what do you mean my favorite little snake becomes even more deadly

Gonzo is hot shifter trickster who I always wanted more of.
Hazel is badass FMC who’s definitely crazy and very similar to Bree (book one) in many ways.

Welcome back to Verfallen, betches! Did you miss it as much as I did?! Cute but Psycho is what first sparked my love for Beatrix’s writing and I’ve been SO excited to dive back into the madness.
I had zero idea how Hazel’s story would play out at first, but I just knew it was going to be twisted in the best of ways. It’s Verfallen, after all. I was completely captivated with the plot && the spice was filled with tension and depravity. What else could I ask for?!

I love when we get a dark heroine and Hazel is definitely crazy and dangerous. This is a sequel so I highly suggest reading in order and you will be happy that you did. Hazel from the start lets you know how she feels about blood and taking out people. The story brings us back several characters and we get some new ones too. I love seeing a new side to a certain doctor. The crazy time never stops in the story and things get hot. Amazing characters that you have to love how crazy they are.

This is absolutely a fun time, gory and hilarious, but a great time nonetheless.
In book 1, I loved Baz's character. Well, now you have Baz's sister, and they are very much alike. Although Hazel is out to get Baz for what she thinks he did, she doesn't know the full story, and after so many years apart, she feels left behind--forgotten.
There are A LOT of triggers In this story, but if you don't take anything too seriously and put your dark romance hat on, this will be one heck of a ride.
Tropes: paranormal beings, shifters, non human entity, MM, MF, mates, creepy scientist vibes.

I couldn't put this book down! Everything is not as it seems with the asylum or its patients, including the main MMC's. While this book us a bit dark, the gore, humour and spice kept me hooked from the beginning. I love everything about cute but creepy. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Better than the first book? ABSOLUTELY! 🙌
First off, let me just say... Baz has always been my favorite character, but now his sister Hazel is firmly tied for that top spot. 🔥 GIVE ME THE FURYS!!! The dynamic between these two is chef's kiss.
And that threesome? A phoenix, a trickster, and Dr. Stein?! 🤯 My brain is still recovering. (Nope, he's not a Frankenstein. What he really is will flip your entire perception upside down!) As a huge horror fan, that reveal twisted me in all the right ways.
Don't you just love it when a horror romance actually delivers on the horror? 🙌 Me too, me too!
There are several killer twists that I thoroughly enjoyed, but don’t worry—I’m not spoiling a thing since this is an early review. I will say that the ending threw me off in the best way possible and has me counting down the days until the next book! 📅💀
If you're a fan of the first, or just someone who craves a beautifully weird, deliciously creepy horror romance, this one’s a must-read. Halloween came early and dropped off an epic, spicy treat this year. 🎃
Also... can we talk about Verfallen’s sanest inmate? It's ELVIS, hands down. 👑
