The Prydain Chronicles are some of my favorite books. I loved them as a child when I read them and I love listening to the audiobooks driving around as an adult.
The characters are so loveable and so much fun to follow around the land of Prydain. Lloyd Alexander has a very authentic voice and at no point have I felt that the words get in the way of the story. This book kicks off an incredible series.

This is a plot driven hero's journey about an assistant pig-keeper and the crew he gathered to help him save his mentor - and his pig. It's fast paced and generally well written. The audio book narrator did a good job with most of the characters. I enjoyed this one!

This is one of the most nostalgic books ever for me. My dad read this book to me when I was around 5, and now a very memorable series. (Besides the atrocious 4th book…) Iconic characters like Gurgi, and Fflerwwdur Fflam are in this book. Such a great series and book! Highly recommend!

I found the ending to be a bit too quick for my liking, but I do appreciate that it wraps it all up in a single book.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to read something by Lloyd Alexander! Wonderful children's fantasy. No wonder his books are so acclaimed!
