Has anyone thought better than James Baldwin? The flow of his writing, his political thinking, his fluid movement from the personal to the political is unparalleled. This was a small book, and it didn't really peak intellectually as much as simmered throughout, but I found much of it very interesting and relevant and refreshing. I wish I could re-read this more slowly, even study it in a class setting.
