I really enjoyed this latest addition to the Five Kingdoms series. Mull continues to introduce amazingly entertaining characters and delivers of a fun story. This book, however, is not without its disappointments. I felt the introduction of one of the important characters felt a little underdeveloped and too hard to believe. Mull admits he was rushed to get this book out and I could feel that as I read. The pacing was just a little off in some parts. But that being said, this is still a very fun read and I look forward with eagerness for the rest of the series.

I just finished this book tonight and wow! This is the greatest book of the series so far. You have a thorough understanding of the main cast and their goals as you travel through Zeropolis, a highly advanced city/country. You learn about bots, AI, and the dangers it can hold. You discover a secret about an Enforcer and the plot thickens between the controlling forces of the Outlands! This is a wonderful read with a deliciously fast paced storyline and the action is just right.

Wildly sublime fusion of cyberpunk scifi, and high and urban fantasy.

Mull's Fabelhaven series is still my favorite but he keeps drawing me in to these kids' books with a great storyline. Keep it up!

I enjoyed this book because it moved the story along however I felt some of the climaxes of the book lacked detail. Major battles seemed to be covered in just a few sentences. I'm finding as I read more of Mulls books that this seems to be a common trend.

Amazing book! (That is what I said for the first 2 books, also). The plot was similar, what with the someone taking the princesses power and turning it into a life-like thing (aka Semblance, Seeming, and in this book Supercomputer that wants to take over the kingdom) and that thing going out of control and terrorizing the kingdom. Even though the plot was similar, the book was very different, in a kingdom where robots have personalities, you have internet access, and giant robot dragons try to rule the kingdom.

Okay. A lot happens in this book, and it was such a fun time. I'm not sure why it took me so long to pick this up, but I'm definitely glad I read it when I did because I needed a fast action-packed read that could get me motivated to read again.

First of all, I loved this new kingdom and its technology, it felt like a science fiction novel and I was so there for it! Not only was the magic and setting interesting to read about, but there were also quite a few reveals in this book that I thought was really fun, and we meet up with more friends of Cole's from Arizona.
The fact that Cole has a brother he wasn't even aware of is mind-boggling, and I'm so happy that Hunter is now on the good side, although I'll be honest I didn't always 100% trust him at times

Since this is the third installment of the book, I really appreciated that the scope of the story broadened. Not only do we have more characters (Who could be a little hard to keep track of at times) but were also learning more about how and why the outskirts were created, why the King took his daughter's powers away, and who the real bad guy is. The fact that there is basically a cult following this Nazeem dude kind of threw me for a loop in a good way, and now I'm left wondering... who is this guy? We also meet Dandalus, one of the founding architects of the Outskirts, and I'm really looking forward to learning more about him in the next book.

We also learn more about Shape crafting, which is used to damage normal crafting and it is what happened to Cole in the previous book. I think that as the series moves forward we'll learn more about how it's done, and hopefully Cole will be able to get his powers back!
