A solid rating this time round. The narration is similar to the sense where it's both playful and witty to read. While third-person, you find a bit of entertainment in being slightly removed from the person of focus as you're able to see things a bit more objectively than they see themselves.

While most would consider this a Grumpy x Sunshine, I don't think it is. I'd say the relationship dynamic fall more in between opposites attract and "forced-proximity". Oz is more logical/practical/control-freak in contrast to Mariel's (organised) chaos. What I'm not quite sure of was how the attraction turned into something a bit more profound and deeper regarding their feelings.

Regardless, this was a great and quick read if you're looking for fluff. I'm staying around for the next instalment of the Glimmer Falls series!

It was okay. This is less of a review and more just my feelings/rant about the book.
The main characters aren't much better but I found her friends and especially the moms one note; don't be mean to my friend or I'll punch you, I'm on social media, I'm a mean mom, I'm also a mean mom, yes dear whatever you say dear. Like gave the father a newspaper and everything cliché.
The town hall meeting made me cringe cause it seemed so unrealistic, I've never been to a town meeting before but I doubt it just people just shouting with no structure. But then Mariel's friend "MOOoom dOn'T bE meAN to MY frIEnd." just seemed so childish.
Oz kept getting hard when Mariel stood up for herself but I couldn't get "You are my queen Rebecca" out of my head. Mariel is supposed to be in her late 20s but reminds me of a messy teenager.
It was too obvious who was behind the blight in the forest once she went to the library and meet "James" so the misunderstanding thinking it was Oz was just annoying. She loves Oz and trusts him, planning to spend the rest of her life together with him but then one person accuses him and she's just switches.
This is just a personal preference but I did not like the world. I was not a fan of when magical worlds where everyone knows about magic. I also didn't like all the creatures living together. It just reminds me of Halloweentown. Like do centaurs live in stables? How do they eat at restaurants?
Small gripe, why not give demons a dic worthy of bad dragons?
