These books are trash. But they’re My trash.

Probably will have more things to say at a later date when I feel up to it!

I should have known I wouldn’t like this novel because it’s a period piece and about witches. Two things I have no interest in. However, I couldn’t miss a single novel in this series. It was pretty boring for the most part. Until someone finally died, that is.

As a lover of the Private novels, I wasn't disappointed with this book but I was expecting more. I was a little disappointed with the story and the way the girls came to be witches, I was expecting it to be a little more exciting.

The parallels between present Easton and the Billings School are really similar; it was nice to see that. Between Theresa Billings, Noelle, Reed, and Eliza Williams, the similarities are uncanny.

It's a very easy, light read. It does really good as a prequel but it's also great as a stand alone book if you have not read the Private series.

There wasn't too much magic or romance but it also wasn't too girly; it had a really good balance of everything! If you're looking for a sort of supernatural, easy read, this is your book!

I am not sure what it was about this book but I really did like it. It was a super easy and fast read and I loved the short chapters. It was what I needed right now, something I did not have to spend much time analyzing or figuring out.

I was not sure what to expect because book set back in that era for me are sometimes really good and other times hard to get into. This one however was the former. The book was easy to get into, the characters were easily likeable.

Billings school is meant to train young high society girls (complete with maids) how to be brides and how to be proper with etiquette, conversation, even simple acts like the perfect way to pour tea, but of course they will not be expected to pour the tea themselves, but they may have to correct their future maids if they do it wrong.

The girls all seem to have their own personalities, some of them are what you would expect, spoiled rich brats, some are very easily startled or faint, and some have their own strength and could care less about the proper etiquette of being a proper woman.

But as you will soon see Billings seems to have a secret....witchcraft.

What have the girls gotten themselves into? Are they able to control the witchcraft? Are they in danger and most importantly will they be able to save one of their best friends and coven members?

If you like paranormal YA/Teen novels you will probably enjoy this book.

It was a pretty good read. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen. I found that the book ended a little abruptly though.

I also didn't like Eliza's indecisive attitude toward Harrison. I felt bad for him. First she wants him, then she feels guilty, and back again. Like make up your mind, girl!

Reading a prequel before even the first book is kind of strange. You get a general idea but it's kind of spaced out and vague, cause you don't really know how it'll connect to the next books.

Liked it a lot. I have a weakness for settings a la Jane Austen. Women were funny back then. Not in a haha way, I might add.

Let's see how this series goes.
