Premise: Older lady buys haunted dream home and talks us through her Stockholm syndrome.

A truly singular book. I've never read anything quite like it, and the audiobook narrator does an excellent job. The author draws smart parallels between abusive relationships and being in love with your "perfect" house. Pretty funny. Somewhat gory. Lots of swearing.

Saw this as a recommendation on YouTube as a heartfelt book with an intriguing twist on the haunted house trope - yep! Really loved the book and our main character. The pragmatic way she deals with being in a haunted house is pretty brilliant and the mounting tension as we go through the plot makes for an intriguing combination. The almost-twist at the end really had me going! Overall a very fun and heartfelt book.
