though i liked the story in general, especially how the relationship between archer and hadley developed, i found the setting and antagonists to be a litte flat. i wish we would’ve seen more of taylor (also, that‘s like the most basic name you could give the mc‘s best friend. seriously.) and gotten to know her more, as she was mentioned only a few times. considering she was hadley’s best friend, i would’ve expected her to play a bigger role, even though hadley was very caught up in the whole archer business.
several of the characters felt flat and cliché and…well, exactly what you would expect from a wattpad story, which makes sense because this literally is one. i could see elements of that sometimes in the writing as well. still, i feel like other parts of the story partly made up for that.
overall i enjoyed it, despite its clichés.

- Easy read (3 hours)
- Recovery is oversimplified and the writing is amateurish. I hate how sheltered Hadley is.
- The plot, romance, and surprise ending are creative.

I liked the wattpad version better tbh.. my favorite part was cut out from the published version :')
also some small comments:
also some small comments:
- the whole church thing was new and idk how to feel abt it
- the whole penguin monogamy people should learn from them bothered me like polygamy exists and is valid ?
- and her explaining to rosie the whole when a guy loves a girl thing felt really straight? LMAO like i am gay as hell so i would have preferred if hadley was like when two ppl love each other,,
- i really read that and i was like man the straights are at it again
- am living for the grumpy x sunshine as always
- ALSO the
hadley's injuries really bothered me for some reason like idk i felt like it was too specific/much? like i was uncomfortable reading it - really liked the whole potluck scene was VERY happy happy 10/10 loved the whole them looking at archer laughing
- I really liked the extended conversation with death as well i felt like it tied everything up very nicely
- I liked how this version was more "he was saved by the power of friendship" bc the wattpad version was more love-centered so i think this version was more about friendship and love was secondary and that was really nice
maybe i'm just biased but i read the wattpad version like four times because i loved it so much back then (like 2017 ish?) so i wanted to reread it now and it was honestly a bit underwhelming ? i'm not sure if it's because my reading preferences and opinions changed or if it's the actual published version.
will have to reread the wattpad version and come back! :')
overall i really hold this book close to my heart but the published version just didn't give what i thought it would give :')

In 27 Days is a very emotional book that makes you think about how what you see may not be what someone is actually going through. It made me cry... a lot... but also laugh sometimes. It was honestly one of my top 10 favorite books I've ever read.

I found this book years ago on Wattpad. It’s such an amazing book, the author wrote it extremely well. It’s a great young adult/teen book that keeps you hooked. I reread this book so many times, it’s a comfort book of mine. Even though it surrounds a really dark topic, it doesn’t go too much into detail about it, which makes it a lighter read, but it would be nice to have some context.
Moderate: Suicide attempt and Suicide
