I have thoroughly enjoyed every book written by Christopher Moore (I've got and read them all). But, for some reason, I just couldn't get into this one. Unlike all his previous work, I just couldn't connect with any character. Unlike all his previous work, I was able to put this one down - often times I went several days without reading any of it. Maybe it's just me, but this book just didn't grab me. I am, however, looking forward to Moore's next release, whatever it might be.

Always a 5 Star

No one can weave a tale like Mr. Moore. I, however, do love dick jokes, novel curses, and fuckery most foul.

While I'll cheerfully admit to being a Moore fan from way back, Shakespeare for Squirrels more than earns an unbiased five stars. There aren't many books that can make me literally laugh out loud, especially in the hideous black hole of suck that is 2020, but this one managed it on multiple occasions. Witty, irreverent, sly, and fabulous, with a good dash of Shakespeare and more than a few "Fuckstockings!" to top it off. A fun and funny read.

This book continued the tale of Pocket in a most delightful way, and around every corner lay details that had me giggling and smiling. I read this book at breakneck speeds because I just had so much fun turning the pages and losing myself in Pocket's story. I've recently started juggling and when Pocket lists his resume at one point in the story, I became more deeply enamoured with circus performers, all the cool tricks they can do and what-not.

I liked this 3rd book in the Fool series more than the 2nd, and think it is on par with the 1st in terms of the solid storytelling of the unique character, Pocket.

I'm super pleased with the experience of reading this and am excited for Moore to release more novels since this one came out ... in November 2020. I guess I'm holding one of my favourite authors to somewhat an unrealistic standard in expecting another book already, but I have my literary needs, and more Christopher Moore material is absolutely at the top of those needs. I've read every one of his books and while I am a fan of re-reading books, I'd much prefer some new material.

May this goodreads review go noticed by the author, that he may expedite the writing process solely on behalf of my sensibilities! I finished this with startling speed, I'd just finished reading Dune and that really bolstered the speed and volume at which I've been going through books. It's an absolute spot of delight to travel through, though!

Another fun Christopher Moore book. Would’ve been better if I had recently read Midsummer Night’s Dream, but still very enjoyable.

2 stars. Audiobook. This book didn't appeal to me at all. The heavy-handed overabundance of 'comic relief' became tedious. The silliness was tedious. It came across as Shakespeare for dullards. It would have been a DNF for me, but I was reading it for a book club, so I pushed through and completed it. The actual writing was competent, so it's not getting a 1, but it felt like a total waste of my time.
