Picked this up on a whim, sorry to my poor neglected TBR, and was such a surprisingly good read!
The balance between the horror, gore, and brutal reality of the zombie apocalypse and the sweet utterly endearing relationship between Atlan and Finley was a real treat! Oftentimes with apocalypse books they get too bleak for me but this book never felt overly dark while definitely not shying away from the violence and horrors.
It still managed a certain lightness that made it fun.
I had such a good time reading this and absolutely love Atlan and Finley. Can’t wait to continue to the next book!
