It's no secret to anyone who knows me well that I am somewhat obsessed with Broadchurch. It's becoming a problem.
So, when I heard about these short stories, my mum just said, "Oh no, there goes all your money."
She's right. I'm a sucker for anything that brings me closer to the characters of this show. Erin Kelly's writing is very enjoyable to read - her adaptation of series one was great.
I loved this short story and I've pre-ordered the next two already. It's hard waiting between episodes and this lessens that pain. I sound so dramatic but I can't really put into words how emotionally involved I am with these characters. Deary me.
In short, this novella is a glimpse into Ellie's turmoil after series one. I love that it ties directly into the episode, that is offers in-depth analysis of what she's feeling and that it's a lot like fanfiction, only it's canon and true and authorized!
(Can you tell that I'm still recovering from episode 2?)
ANYWAY. I adore the whole idea. Whoever thought of a book series to match the show is a pure genius and I quite want to kiss them.
