The two main characters felt one-dimensional. Their voices lacked individuality. They talked, thought, and acted so similarly I had to check which chapter I was on just to know whose perspective I was reading from.
Despite the book being centered around motorcycle racing, it barely played a role in the story. There was only 1 chapter—maybe five pages at most—dedicated to it.
And about the portrayal of antagonistic characters, like Devon’s abusive father, it was shallow. Jim seemed to be bad just for the sake of being bad, rather than having any real dept to his character. This, combined with an underwhelming plot, made the story fall flat for me.
However, the dynamic between the two main characters was one reason that kept me reading. Their relationship had enough to hold my interest, so that bumped up the rating from 1.75 to 2.15/5 for me.
As my first gay romance read, (I don't read romance often) it didn’t leave the best impression. I wouldn't  recommend Garron Park but read it if you're looking for goon material.
fast-paced

I had a good time with this book, there was angst and tension and to my surprise, a healthy amount of communication.

I fucking loved it. This book could be perfectly written for me. It had everything I love. I know this book is a bit fucked up, but so am I. I like dark/angsty-themed topics because it shows that the world is not always positive. The dynamics between the protagonists are rough and aggressive. That reflects the result for lack of good parenting that they never had. They don't know how to handle emotional issues. It was interesting to read how they would handle that.

Overall, Devon and Maddox deserve being loved and a happy ending.

Not for me. The main characters are said to be in their 20s but seem more like teenagers to me

The fact that I’m already reading book 2 makes it obvious I LOVED this!

Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope, and it is not that easy to pull off, but Nordika Night most definitely succeeded. The tension, the build-up, the drama - oh my god it was perfect.
The brothers playing matchmakers is also pure gold.
