This was so good.  I loved the tension and hate between the two MMCs.  This was sad, angsty, funny, brutal.  Loved the brothers in this too.  This was definitely not a heart warming story, but the ending gave me the warm and fuzzies.  So enjoyable.

it's been 84 years since i finished something...

i have a hard time describing my feelings towards this book. i had a really fun time reading this and felt attached to both Devon and Maddox in a way. i liked the setting of the trailer park. i really liked Nate and Xavi.

but i feel like the scenes were quite jarringly cut sometimes, which really took me out of the story.
a really jarring example of this is when Devon and Nate get arrested. from a story-telling perspective, I understand that this might be done to throw off the reader like Devon and Nate were, but from an editor-in-training perspective, it felt sloppy and cheap.

the relationship between Devon and Maddox is something that was a weird mix of borderline toxic and primality that i haven't seen in a while. somehow, i liked it, though. i liked that they didn't lose their previous dynamic even once they started ... dating

overall, i had a nice time reading this book because it was easy and surprisingly funny, but in terms of quality, i'd recommend looking elsewhere.
