I honestly went back and forth with this book. I started it a while back and almost dnf it because I couldn’t get into it at first. The middle to later half of the book was good once I gave it a chance!
I love a good enemies to lovers but before they went exclusive I kind of got annoyed how they would get together then fight the next day it was honestly a bit confusing. But once they agreed on being exclusive I was a bit like okay maybe this just works for them, they are just lowkey toxic lmao.
I wish there would have been a little more plot when it came to stuff outside of their relationship. I love the idea of a motocross book but we didn’t really hear anything about the sport. The plot basically was their relationship and I think they are the perfect match but the angst that came with Jim idk if I can read book 2

I enjoyed that the guys fell hard in love. I'm glad the story was dual pov because if it weren't I wouldn't have rated it as high. I didn't like how Maddox would pour his heart out to Devon and he didn't reciprocate as much.
I liked it enough that I will read book two!

Super enjoyed this book. And it hits on a lot of stuff I don't usually like, but it just /works/ in this book.
A cute enemies to lovers, but they're super toxic together the entire time. It's played as their "thing" to beat each other up, but it's not something that exists in healthy dynamics. There's also the issue of these characters being 16. I mean, they're 25 in the books, but they act like 16 year olds. Their behaviour is necessary for the plot, but I appreciate aging them up so we're not watching children. A bit of a double edged sword.
The book gave a good perspective of how a small community can descend into what is basically a high school gossip mill, and how it will protect its own, even when it shouldn't.
The older siblings are refreshing. They feel 25. Though I guess they must be closer to 30.
