4 STARS!!

I really enjoyed this one and wish it were made into a movie because I think it would be an good one. This was just as thrilling as Mary's other books I've read so far and I look forward to reading more of her books in the near future. :)

A solid thriller overall. The book read like a crime/thriller TV series which was really fun. I am impressed by how the author has managed to capture this feeling. The ending was also unpredictable unlike many new thrillers.

This book has alot of mystery too it. But she writes mystery and murder with class that is very soft. There aren't huge twists and shockers and throw in your face kind of turns but it still gets the job done.

Mary Higgins Clark does it again with another page-turner that kept me reading late into the night and finishing the book in the span of just a few days.

In No Place Like Home, Celia Nolan's new husband has just purchased her a new home as a birthday gift. The house has a tragic past - a little girl named Liza Barton accidentally shot and killed her mother while trying to protect her from an angry boyfriend. The surprise is that Celia is Liza Barton - she had changed her name and moved away, trying to escape this tragic past.

I didn't see the twist at the end until just before it happened, which I always appreciate when I am reading mysteries. However, while I flew through this book and found it entertaining, it has started to bother me that MHC's books always have these rich, privileged settings where people belong to horseback riding clubs and buy houses as birthday gifts. Additionally, the fact that Celia keeps getting remarried after a few years is also unrealistic and - as a result - annoying. Nevertheless, this is a good MHC read - the queen of suspense has done it again!

An interesting read, very often chilling, bordering creepy. The short chapters always kept me reading, hooked on to it. While it is riveting and grasps all your attention, I found the characters lacking depth. Even by the end of the book, I lacked an attachment or a sense of actually knowing a character. The end was not unpredictable and did not have a major element of "twist". In conclusion, for read moods like "all i want is a quick thriller read", I would recommend it.

No Place Like Home follows the story of Celia Nolan, previously Liza Barton, as her husband bought her a house for her birthday. It was supposed to be a grand surprise, but turned out to be horrific for Celia as she finds out that the house her husband bought for her is the same house where she accidentally shot her own mother when she was 10 years old – 24 years ago. And as she tries to live a normal life in Mendham, a killer who probably knows Celia's real identity is on the loose.

This is another slowburn thriller that I enjoyed. It's my first MHC novel and I promise that it did not disappoint. Despite being a slowburn, it surprised me that it was not repetitive or boring which tends to happen in other slowburn novels. I really had fun guessing who has been killing these people — I have one person in mind, but it ended up being more than that. I absolutely did not see the twist coming at the end.

There are so many characters introduced in this book, but it was not so hard to follow them as each character is well-introduced per chapter. What I loved most about this book is that it keeps you guessing and that it has its readers captive until the very end.

All in all, I recommend this book if you're up for slowburn thrillers! It's really good and I can't wait to read more of MHC's works.
