I was doing the Inwards Goods at work and this was one of the books on a particular invoice. I'm not a sports fan, though I do enjoy watching the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games and yes, I did know that Jesse Owens was famous, but beyond that I couldn't have told you anything. So I was curious.
These DK publications are excellent. Not only do we get a balanced view of his life but there are lots of snippets of side information along the way. The illustrations are a mixture of drawings and photographs, and the text is easy to read. I browsed at first, but then read cover to cover.
