2.5/5 Stars

Ella's brother, Weston, died 12 years ago. Years later her father is being laid to rest. That's when Ella discovers that she can travel to a different universe, where aliens are threatening to attack. Ella is given the responsibility to save the people of this alternate universe in order to save her own world as well.

Initially, the book grabbed my attention and I was intrigued by the story line. Unfortunately, as the story progressed, the story went down hill for me. In the beginning, I liked all the characters and found them to be very relateable and fun to get to know. As the story continued, I just became increasingly more annoyed with the characters and the way they interacted with one another. The dialogue seemed very forced in my opinion and I found myself skimming a lot of the conversations. I enjoyed the idea of the aliens and their plans of world domination. I think that the story definitely had potential but became too far fetched for me in the end.

This was such a unique read, I’ve not read anything like it. Aliens attack a universe that you are suddenly dragged in to and then you need to save that planet and your own planet? It was an intense read and I found myself thinking about what would happen when I wasn’t read it.
Ella, the main character, is a young girl, her brother died 12 years ago and her dad recently, but it’s not that last she’ll see of them. I loved visualising her characters develop.
The story flowed so well and I am very excited to pick up the next book.
If you’re into Sci Fi or anything with some action, you should defo give this book a go!
