Ohhhh. 🥹🥹🥹
Stefan the Tk Psy who spends most of the year in a deep sea station has been mentioned a few times during the Psy-Changeling series, and his novella did not disappoint! I loved his story with Tazia, the human engineer who works alongside him in the deep sea station.
There was so much tenderness and empathy between them, it made my heart ache. Even though Stefan had been conditioned to not feel, he gave strong “he loves quietly but surely” vibes.
Very emotional for a 100 page novella.

It's such a wonderful novella but I'd totally take a full-length novel with these two!
Things I liked:
- Interesting story about a girl from a strict religious family and her rejection of an arranged marriage
- FMC is an engineer!
- MMC is understanding and knowledgeable about her upbringing and how it still affects her in the current situation
Things I didn’t like:
- The plot about him being seen on the psy net breaking silence doesn’t really make sense because nothing comes of it
- Part of me wishes Tazia didn’t have a reconciliation because that’s just too HEA

I read this ages ago as part of the collection Wild Embrace, but during this latest read-through I went back to find this short story specifically as I had seen many references to Stefan from other Arrows & Kaleb, but couldn't remember exactly what happened in his origin romance. This was a very short, ~30 page novella, but his and Tazia's romance sprouted wings and flew off the page just like any other. Definitely worth the read, standalone or with the rest of the collection!
This is probably one of the best novellas in this series. Despite it being so short, we actually get relationship development, which is rare in short stories. There was even a plot AND sub-plot.

Since I haven’t figured out all the ins and outs of this series’ novellas, I didn’t read this one until after I had already gotten past the fifth book. That’s okay though. I don’t feel I missed anything by waiting. In fact, I’m glad I know a bit more about this world when reading this one.
This story is fantastic. The slow and careful way Tazia and Stefan get to know one another and eventually fall in love is so sweet and put a huge smile on my face. It was fun to see a Psy man with a gooey center. Other Psy males have feelings, but so far Stefan is the most cinnamon-roll one that I have read. It was fantastic!
I’d love to see more of these two as the series progresses. I know they have a lot to offer the people who are rebelling against the injustices of the Psy leaders.

Oh how I love these two!
I know that there isn't enough for it to be a full book but I really wish it had been. They are just so damn cute and I'd love more of them.
For a short story this made me a little teary a lot more than once. Tazia and Stefan have their demons but together they can overcome them and live HEA. It's toooo cute!!
“Ah, he understands you.” Her grandmother smiled in beaming pride. “Yes, my Tazi bends, she does not break.”
Shoutout to Teta Aya for being the only member of Tazia's family with any sense. Nalini Singh has mad respect for the Granny's. As is only correct in my experience! :D

Echo of Silence - Rated 4 Stars
This one occurs after Visions of Heat. It pairs Stefan a Psy and Tazia a human. Silence hasn’t fallen yet, so for a Psy to feel is a death sentence.
This little novella gives us a peek into Alaris the deep sea station where all three races work together, but most of the story is topside. I liked that we got to see a Human/Psy paring. We haven’t had much of the human element in the series.
I found Echo of Silence to be a sweet read.
