Okay so I did think the universe/magic system was compelling. However, I was thrown by how even after the mc realized that her relationship with a 30 year old had been bad and manipulative, the author then started to set her up with another adult. She’s 17! I know there was a line about how she was considered a woman at 16 or whatever but it felt really gross to me. She could have very easily been an adult and it wouldn’t have altered the plot at all. The fantasy concept was cool but there were too many times where I was uncomfortably aware a man had written this. I’m really curious if a male protagonist would have been spanked by an angry spirit. I doubt it.
