4.5 stars. Ah, my love/hate relationship with Eric Courtland continues in The Arrangement. This fourth installment in Cat Grant’s Courtland Chronicles series begins with Eric’s wife, Ally, discovering his affair with his on again/off again lover Nick Thompson. Eric’s solution for the three of them is a committed ménage relationship. Nick and Ally agree, but their relationship is soon challenged by jealousy, Eric’s political career, blackmail and a health crisis. Please click HERE to read my review in its entirety.

This book skipped all the good parts and fell flat for me. We missed them all falling in love and trying to figure out how their arrangement was going to work. One dimensional characters and no growth or development. I skimmed almost the whole thing and didn't miss a thing.

Having now read 4 of the 5 Courtland books, I have found that Ally and Eric's relationship to be forced. I don't find it believable that Ally and Eric would get together to begin with and to have Nick come in to be a third in their relationship makes is seem so unreal. I think the idea of three people in a relationship is new and interesting, but the relationships with Ally seem forced and not at all built on love or trust. Eric and Nick relationship is the only one I truly believe works. At the end of the day I would rather have Eric and Nick together and Ally gone.

I found the first installment of this series too angsty and drama-filled for my taste, but figured I'd give this fourth book a try when I showed up on the Kindle free books list. I wasn't won over to the series by this one, either.
