This was so much more heart-breaking than the movie. Really enjoyed it and really made me reflect.

Well that was abrupt.

In my opinion, this was far from being the greatest book. (Okay, it's close to being one of the worst that I've read.) Like it was so unrealistic and not historically accurate, and while in the Author's Note the author does say Bruno is supposed to be somewhat naive, it's a little (er, a lot) over the top.

Definitely not going to recommend this book to anyone. If you have to know the story, watch the movie or something. Or read a synopsis somewhere. Seriously.

it really strikes me how we as people could make a whole literary genre out of such a tragedy - not only that, but we make it "inspiring", cute and historically inaccurate. i am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because of the ending.

please read peter's kubicek, holocaust survivor, review in here

The strength of this book is that the reader knows what's happening, but nine-year-old Bruno does not. It can also cause irritation, causing you to shout out loud: 'Really Bruno, are you that ignorant?' I cannot imagine something like that what happened at the end really happening, but who knows. You shouldn't expect something in-dept, it's all written from the viewpoint of Bruno, the nine-year-old.

I am not sure I will ever emotionally recover from this book. I feel I have been avoiding it for years and today a light bulb went off in my head that said how do I want to ruin my day? This book is amazing but I don't know if I should tell everyone to read it or tell people not to. I am happy I read it but having that emotional breakdown at work probably wasn't the best choice in my life.
emotional sad

Favorittboken min er The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
