TW/CW: Violence, torture, death, fantasy violence
REVIEW: I am doing a lot of rereading now! I am rereading this series as well as Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series. Very different books, but I am very much enjoying them both.
I quickly skimmed the first two of these books as I remembered most of them, and started reading for real on the third one. I’d forgotten a lot of it since my last read was almost ten years ago!
The Rise Of Nine follows the story of the Loric Garde, powered teenagers who were whisked to earth as the only survivors of the destruction of their planet. In this book, all except one are reunited for the first time in ten years, and their battle against those who destroyed their world and are trying to destroy earth really begins.
I really enjoyed this series the first time I read it because it’s totally my thing. I’m a sucker for teen fantasy, and love seeing all the characters’ powers – or Legacies – develop. Even though I know the basic outline of what happens, it’s still exciting and a pleasure to read.
I would definitely recommend this series to people who love YA fantasy.
very fast, lost of action, many characters with things you need to remember.. but yet so simple to read and very very hard to put down. I needed just 2 days to finish it. Can't wait till the next comes one in the series is coming out.
I always seem to judge books by the badassness of the female characters, the rise of nine scores really high on this point! All the female characters are strong and independent.

I will probably read the next book even though this particular book gives me no reason to do so.
it was fast paced and i loved the action scenes... but multiple perspectives drives me nuts... too much jumping around so that just as i get into the story i am shoved into a different scenario and i just don't feel like i need to to KEEP READING. it just makes putting the book down that much easier....
so its a good book but too many persepctives trying to be conjested.

So not that big of a fan of this one. I really don't like nine. He's so cocky and annoying. It gets in my nerves the way he treats four. I think four is so much better than nine. I'm excited they all met up finally and are discovering new powers. I am still curious about number five though. Where is he or she at? Where is Sam? And why is he US working with thee bad guys? They are going to destroy earth and we are helping them! I hope five has someone with him or her so they aren't all alone. I am excited that Sarah didn't turn him in and they are together again. And I love how seven and eight like each other! That's awesome. Now what happens next?
1) Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
2) Genre: Young Adult
3) Synopsis: Aliens live on earth. Good and bad ones. Lead by John Smith (Alien #4) leads a small group against the evil ones. They are earth’s last hope. If only the government realized that.
4) Feelings: Let me start by saying I liked this book a lot but it had a few things that threw me off. First, the point of view changes quite a bit in this book but without any obvious way to know who it is. Give me a little clue somewhere that will help me know who he is talking. It also ends with an obvious point to the next book. Hate that. Lastly, the cover is made with a textured paper that threw me off with the feel of it.
5) Final recommendation: As I said, I liked the book a lot. Fun read with cool super powers. Not enough books using super heroish characters if you ask me. A must read if you liked the first two books.

Second Reading:
John and Nine have escaped the Mogadorian cave in West Virginia and Six, Marina, Ella and Craytons survived their own exposure with the Mogs and are headed to India to try to meet up with Eight. Upon landing in India they almost immediately find Eight through his followers, because Eight has been posing as Vishnu. He shows them a cave where there are predictions of many things with the Garde and even a prediction of Eight's death. The mogs show up so they all try teleporting out through the Loralite stone. Except Crayton is killed just before they can leave. Eight teleports them first to Somalia, then Stonehenge in England before landing them in New Mexico. Simultaneously John and Nine recuperate, then make their way to Chicago where Nine has a safe house. John manages to turn on the tablet that they found in Paradise before he was captured and it shows the current location of every one of the Garde. They realize that things are going down in New Mexico and head there. As they are pulling into NM they see that the others have arrived in NM too. They meet up with Seven, Eight, and Ten and together enter the prison where Sarah and Six are being held. Epic battle ensues and John discovers he can heal people too!
I LOVE THESE BOOKS! This one was more of the same amazing qualities. I enjoy seeing them all learning how to use their legacies and become more proficient at it. There were a couple of twists that I was not expecting and some truly amazing moments. READ IT!
