A book of its time.  I enjoyed the writing.

I find Quinn to be annoying and whiny, I find patronia very cliche and shocking for the sake of being shocking. Adding little to the story. The ending was incredibly anticlimactic. It was like the worlds longest after thought

The story of Blackwood Farm is wonderful in and of itself and could have been written without including Lestat, but it's nice to have him around. I thought Quinn was a likeable narrator, and even though Rice tries way too hard to make Lestat hip and this book could have surely used an editor (Rice goes overboard as usual), I still enjoyed it.

I liked how he became a vampire and his ghost friend added a cool flair. Adding in the Mayfair Witches was a great idea. This book encouraged me to read more.

I really enjoyed this one! It was the first one in this series so far that actually frightened me a little bit. Vampires I like but I don't especially find them scary, ghosts on the other hand are something that really do scare the hell out of me! I really liked Tarquinn Blackwood, and I was happy that Lestat was back in this one too, and of course Mona was very likeable. I listened to the audiobook version and the narrator was good as well.

Bit of a drag, but glad I got through it, was even craving a little more at the end (I guess there’s the next book lol). There’s a lot of details and strings throughout the meat of the book that fall into place and connect into a nice web at the end.

I just couldn't finish this book, got half way and was bored to tears. Sad because it came recommended.

3.25 stars. It took me almost a year to finish this book and I kept falling in and out of love with it. At this point I keep reading this story just for the love of Anne Rice's writing style and not for the story itself that leaves me more than unsatisfied.

The more the story continues the more difficult it gets to understand what direction the author envisions for the characters and the general plot.
