For a copy mystery centered around Julia Child and her (fictional) friend, this didn't have a lot of Julia in it. And I wasn't entirely sold on the portrayal of her, either. Tabitha, the friend, got a little annoying by the end, and she didn't really solve the murder, more stumbled into the crime scene at the moment the killer was describing their plan. I would almost prefer it if her 'grand-pere' and 'oncle' were the protagonists, they were fun. The drama and secrets behind the theater company was good though, I honestly kept reading cause I love a good problem so long as it's not my problem.
Moderate: Murder
Minor: War, Misogyny, Car accident, Gun violence, Injury/Injury detail, and Sexism

Main is TSTL. Writing and pacing aren't bad, but I really just disliked all the characters for some reason, and the main, Tabitha, kept doing the stupidest things, and blaming it on her inner imp or sprite.
I like mysteries, but this just wasn't suited to my taste; I read it to complete a Kindle Challenge (it was the only option available from the library).

In post WWII Paris, a young American woman, Tabitha, has gone to live with her grandfather and her "uncle," and is being taught to cook by her friend, Julia Child. There are lighthearted moments throughout the book, but most of the story is dedicated to Tabitha investigating the murder of a guest at one of Julia's parties. Tabitha seemed immature and inconsistent. The writing was a little simplistic and though most of the book told of things as they occurred, there were several comments of "if I had known...," which did not fit. There are numerous suspects and some interesting twists, but the highlights for me were the tidbits of French cooking, mentions of sites in Paris, and the relationship among Julia, Tabitha, and the older gentlemen. I think that could make for a fun book.
