A sweet cozy maybe trying a little too hard to hit the cozy notes à la Christie, Chesterton & Doyle. The imagery of the city was well done - felt like I got all the senses of being in each of the buildings with the descriptions. I enjoyed Grand-père and Oncle Rafe and hope to see more of them.

Felt the ending was a bit weak but a cute book overall!

For a copy mystery centered around Julia Child and her (fictional) friend, this didn't have a lot of Julia in it. And I wasn't entirely sold on the portrayal of her, either. Tabitha, the friend, got a little annoying by the end, and she didn't really solve the murder, more stumbled into the crime scene at the moment the killer was describing their plan. I would almost prefer it if her 'grand-pere' and 'oncle' were the protagonists, they were fun. The drama and secrets behind the theater company was good though, I honestly kept reading cause I love a good problem so long as it's not my problem.
