I am new to cooking with a skillet and this was the perfect book to read. The author describes the basics of the skillet, from the history, to seasoning, to continued care. Some of the recipes are bit more "out there" for me to try or want to try. However, I have bookmarked a few to try at home or for guests.

I will say this book has had me reconsider how I make dinner. It suggested placing the skillet on the stove to keep ready for all meals, and I may just do that. The only way to get better cooking with it is to use it!

Very solid recipes. Approachable upgrades and new takes on classic foods. Everything in this book looks appetizing and enticing.

I didn’t see any recipes that stood out. But there are SO any different types of recipes in here, it is perfect for someone learning cast iron cooking. I also love there was a history of cast iron skillets in the beginning.
