I really enjoyed reading this book, but there are so many others I want to get started on and the steady lull of this was holding me back. I think I will pick it up again in the future when the time is right. It's extremely interesting as a look into pre-war Europe and American life, particularly from the POV of a Jewish man who isn't particularly religious, but feels strong ties to his culture and identity. I heard about this book when I was deep-diving into The Grand Budapest Hotel movie, and other books involving Stefan Zweig will remain on my to-read list!
