I really don't have too much to say about this book. I finished it in about a day - it's an easy read to get through, and I didn't have a bad time reading it. However, the storyline is just ridiculously idealistic. At no point did I think, "wow, this feels like it could actually happen." Maybe that's part of the point...to get sucked into a lovely, unrealistic story...but this just didn't do it for me.

I have conflicting thoughts about this one. I did not necessarily like it, however I also didn’t hate it. I think I would have preferred for it to be a different kind of story (Nora truly emancipating herself from her desperate need to be loved by men that she never really trusts). The whole plot is basically a big miscommunication which I dont necessarily love. But i did like that i truly had not seen the plot twist coming so i guess thats good.

Do I recommend this book: 🤷‍♀️

The book was ok. I listened to the audiobook and found the nasal voice a little grating at first but I eventually became used to it.  I found the connection between the FMC and MMC lacking. It seemed like right place, right time and boom they’re in love.

It was good enough to make me want to find out the ending but it was so frustrating from 50% on. It felt too insta-love, they rush into hooking up, then the whole second half of the book is the third act breakup and it’s miserable.

I just felt like I kept listening because I HAD to know WHY he disappeared. Then the reason made me want to scream. The absolute insane level of miscommunication that would lead to that just blew my mind.

I did enjoy Nora, her life, work, home, and how she makes things work for her family. Leo seemed unrealistic and always gave off a vibe that he was running away from something. The tea house and the sunrises on the porch were beautiful settings for the kinds of talks that they had, but they shouldn’t have been the only place they could communicate like that.

I will say, there were some great one-liners:
“Inappropriate oozing of sex appeal”
“Stop smoldering the other unsuspecting middle aged ladies around here!”

Unfortunately, this won’t be a book I gush about or recommend to others.
