It's actually 3.5 stars, i loved the ending, (mogget/yrael is my favourite!) loved the epilogue with Nick and the dog and love all the scenes when liraeal goes into death, but i think the rest of the book was not as interesting. I loved Lirael and Sam's character growth though in this book, especailly Sam x

Some writers have no concept of appropriate cost, assigning too little or too much. Garth Nix is NOT one of those writers.

Abhorsen is in keeping with the prior books in the series and is very good. The story continues from where Lirael leaves off. Lirael and her companions are in a fight to prevent the end of all life.
