I feel like this shouldn’t have been the final draft for this book. Adding some more details to make the story feel more fleshed out and less hurried would’ve added so much!

After a nasty breakup, Harper moves to Orchid Beach to start over, landing a job as a photographer for the NHL team, Orchid City Vipers. After a night-out, she meets a stranger, who she finds out to be Nico Circone, a player for the Vipers.
I enjoyed the book and how straightforward it was. They fell in love way too quickly but I really enjoyed how open they were about their feelings and how even if they were scared, they shared how they felt.
Nico's character was written perfectly and I loved it. The fact that he knew what he wanted and respected Harper's boundaries made him perfect. I loved how it didn't have a third-act conflict and the characters were very vocal about how they loved each other and didn't let fear ruin their relationship.

I read this start to finish in one sitting and honestly it was a challenge. The repeated phrases, incorrect grammar and sentences that just don't make sense are a hard obstacle to overcome in all honesty. The characters are sweet and had potential but there is 0 depth or development at all.
I'm not a fan of past tense in contemporary romance and in this case it wasn't helped by the occasional slip in tense by the author. There were also occasionally spelling errors in characters' names.
I am a DIE HARD hockey romance fan, and I really really wanted to love this, but it really just felt like it needed an editor. (Or a new one, if it ever had one in the first place)

🌶️🌶️🌶️ a decent throwaway read that I read free from Prime Reading. Nothing remarkable but a cute trope, no excessive drama - the "issues" are just there and resolve themselves. It is cute seeing Nico fall first and hard. Could have been a better execution though
