I felt like I was reading the emotional maturity of two 13 year olds. It was cringe. I kept reading wanting to like it but the story line and feelings were so immature that I didn’t even care about the next hook in the series.
This book was ok. I felt like it was a bit insta lovey which again it was only 300 pages but still. I felt like we went from I just wanna fuck her (in not a SUPER asshole way) to I can’t be without her in like 10 pages. Suddenly our main guy was in love after the first fuck and I was kinda confused because I was like why do you guys like each other? What do you have in common? Besides that I liked his sister. I did like our main two characters but again the insta live was weird especially cause she went from I want a rebound and I don’t want to lose my job to don’t see anyone else and I’ll rush my job for you. But I digress they were cute together and for whatever reason they seemed to be in love and we loved it when Nico was obsessed. So not the worst but could have been better.

2.5 ⭐️
Wasn’t horrible. Wasn’t great.
Would I pick up something else from this author? Maybe. When I’m more in the mood to read something nice and fluffy lol

2.5 rounded up to 3.
This was recommended to me by a friend, and while I eventually found it enjoyable, this book had such a rocky start, I hesitate to recommend it. The chemistry between Harper and Nico took a major nosedive after the prologue. Nico came across as way too arrogant for the first third of the book, which included their first encounter. I almost DNFed but then Nico called his sister and his character went from being one-dimensional to the leading man. I just wish that phone call had happened earlier.

This is the first book in the Orchid City series. One sexy encounter at a club ends up being a blessing and a curse for Nico Cirrone, star rookie of the Orchid City Vipers hockey team, and Harper Jensen, the team's new official photographer.
