I'm beginning to understand that when a book is written within a book my focus and enjoyment of the story flatlines. In general the science in this heavily outweighed the story but it was still incredibly interesting and visual so it wasn't a complete downside.

The concept is ofcourse extraordinary and amazing, a living sea capable of replicating things from the memories of the people who exist in its vicinity. Also the concept of these creations becoming more and more real and independed as times goes on was great.

The helplessness and an almost implication of fate in this book is also rather endearing, with Rheya's suicide happening twice in the span of Kris' life, both times being something he couldn't stop and a product of Rheya's own determination.
