I'm not sure what I expected from the plot, but it wasn't exactly this. There were moments I really enjoyed about this book, but there were moments that felt really immature mixed with moments that were quite a bit more mature. The effect was jarring. The book also, in my opinion, had structural problems with pacing. I love a fast paced book, but the beginning really felt glossed over and rushed, same with a few chapters. I can understand why we were given 5 POVS, but I found myself pulled from the story a few times to wish we had fewer POVS. One character, I won't say who for spoilers, felt like they were added just to complicate the plot when in actuality another character would have done just as well. I found I didn't care so much about most of these people enough to see from their POV, but there were one or two who felt like they had far more main character energy that I wanted to learn way more about.
I can see why some would enjoy the book, and that's wonderful. It was an entertaining read, but it wasn't quite enough to get me to continue with the next book.
