In The New Menopause, Dr. Mary Claire Haver delivers not just information but inspiration, helping women embrace this phase of life with confidence and optimism. I loved that Dr. Haver included so many symptoms attributable to estrogen loss--things I never would have associated with menopause and things nobody ever talks about. Amazing! Plus, there are tons of resources for what to do and where to look for additional help. You don't need to suffer through this stage of life!
If you’re looking for a guide to help you navigate menopause with clarity and grace, look no further. The New Menopause is a revelation and a gift, reminding us that this stage of life can be as vibrant and fulfilling as any other.

The New Menopause is a good overview for women, even if they are not yet in menopause, to understand the early signs and trajectory of perimenopause and beyond. I am already familiar with this author, having read her book The Galveston Diet, which I enjoyed more than this one. That being said, this is a good starter book for those looking to have a better understanding of their hormones and the treatments available (both natural and medical) when there are imbalances. I deducted a star because I found this book to be a bit choppy, and I think it needed to be read in a traditional book format, as the layout did not work as well in my ebook version.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Rodale Books for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I used to work at a bookstore and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Haver when she came for an event. I had not previously heard of her, although I had heard of her other book, The Galveston Diet. I didn't make the connection or really know much about her.
In the last few years, I've had a developing interest in menopause books after my sister-in-law urged me to be prepared for coming changes. After listening to Dr. Haver at our store event, I knew her book would be a great guide.
The New Menopause has a lot of solid advice and is very empowering. Dr. Haver covers a range of issues and gives advice on how to seek help or make lifestyle changes. This book left me feeling informed.
The part that was most interesting and important to me, was the info on heart health. I have a family history of heart problems and I've had triglyceride issues since being a teen. I always knew that I needed to keep an eye on my yearly blood test results and as I'm getting older, I've notice an increase in certain markers for potential problems. Dr. Haver spends a decent amount of time discussion women's heart health in The New Menopause, which I have not encountered in other menopause books that I've read.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Haver on social media. She helped me realize I’m not going crazy and now I have the guidance I need to revisit a better-informed medical professional than I saw last time.
