emotional informative slow-paced

Informative but slow. I feel like this author /doctor feels very strongly about a certain set of helpful ways that you can deal with Peri and post menopause, and provides you solid scientific research to back that thought process. I do feel that this book was a little heavy-handed and went through things slightly more than I thought necessary. But again, I am decently educated on hormones and the science behind them. So maybe that's just me. I liked that this doctor provided the research results for the methods that she was prescribing. And I think this book would be really helpful for anybody who's close to menopause and thinking they may have some weird symptoms that doctors aren't dealing with.

I learned quite a bit about menopause through this book and can safely say I now know more than my PCP.

Where is this knowledge from basic sex education?? Probably along with just SIX hours docs spend in school learning about menopause.

A few caveats:
- I think this book should more accurately be called "navigating menopause hormone therapy".
- many of the solutions and activities mentioned are not accessible, it wasn't a very equity forward book
- The book can get quite technical and with all of the reference tables, it may be best read instead of listened to.

Audiobook format-Very detailed, backed with studies. A good primer for women heading into peri menopause.  There was redundancy across the book that could have been edited out for crisper delivery and the audiobook format meant appendices were “read aloud”, not easy to refer back to later. Recommend physical book as there are parts I would like to flip to as reference.
