This was a mess. There was: horribly unrealistic dialog, sexual assault, emotional abuse, no actual plot, and so much more.
First time reading a book by this author and i enjoyed it, this book is a paranormal reverse harem book. Its about a girl named Daisy who is a Norm, her parents were killed by the idols ( idols are people with abilities). Being a Norm is difficult since they have less advantages than Idols. She works in a diner to cover her bills and just when she thought she was going to be thrown out of her apartment along with her sister, someone offers her a life time opportunity, a chance to a gifted academy. She took the opportunity but since she knows that idols looks down to Norms and treats them poorly, Daisy knew she was gonna get bullied but she never thought that the four most powerful Idols and the popular guys of school would want to kill her. Wicked Gods has a very intresting plot, it held my attention from the first chapter. The whole Norm and Idols thing was fun to read and i loved the guys. It was funny and suspenseful simultaneously. Daisy is really strong and i admire her strength to stand up in front of idols who have supernatural powers. What i liked the most about this book ( as much as it hurts me to say) was that all the students in the gifted academy never crossed their line because their teachers were strict. The school punished the ones who hurt others or used their abilities to harm. I really liked Bryce, he is not like the other three. He doesnt look down to Norms and always protected Daisy. Ugh he is such a sweetheart. There was chemistry between Daisy and each one of them. Phoenix is a jerk, i hated him at some points but then i also felt bad what he went through with his dad. I can take a wild guess what his dad does to him but maybe it ll be more clear in the second book. Rufio on the other hand is a spoiled brat and i liked him.
Pretty awful. It feels like it's written by someone who was racist, sexually suppressed at a young age and raised with strict gender roles. There's a moment of incest and it's pretty clear who the intended audience is. Beyond that, the male character's voices don't feel at all different and it's easy to confuse character experiences more than twice while reading.

In this world there are Idols (those with power and being in the bloodline of demigods), Fringes (people with some level of power but no where near that of an Idol), and Norms (those with no power). This story mainly follows Daisy, Bryce, Rufio, Phoenix, and Morpheus. With Daisy being a Norm and the other four Idols. After their parents are killed by Idols, Daisy and her sister Rosie run away to try and survive. Seven years later, Daisy is working in a diner when she antagonizes the four Idols above. When she finds herself approached with a scholarship to attend the Gifted Academy (a school mainly for Idols and Fringes), the four Idols who also attend the school vow to drive her away even as they feel inexplicably drawn to her.
This was better than I expected and I’m not even sure what I expected! It’s definitely entertaining and I find myself wanting more detail about the powers of the Idols and Fringes which this didn’t get into too much. There is some bullying elements but not as much as I was prepared for. Some steam, but not overboard! I’ll definitely continue with the series to see how it pans out.

It was alright.
I liked the concept of norms and idols, it was a bit interesting to read about. It was also fun to see how the main character would handle going to a school filled with idols and only one other norm. I also kinda liked the romance part although there were some parts that were problematic and I kinda wish those parts weren't included. It was also a bit disturbing sometimes because some of the guys thoughts were a bit extreme and that kinda put me off a bit. But other than that It was quite entertaining and it held my interest for the most part and I'm currently listening to the second book.
TW: Bullying, Sexual assault(kind of), death

There are two sides: Idols and Norms. For many years, those with supernatural abilities, the Idols, have been the dominant group. However, the scales are tipping and anything can happen in the gameboard of the Gods.
Daisy is a Norm who has been dealt a bad hand in life and when she is offered the chance to attend the prestigious Gifted Academy, she takes it. Her plan to keep a low profile is ruined when she catches the eyes of the four most powerful guys at the academy: Bryce, Rufio, Morpheus and Phoenix.
I cannot express how much I enjoyed Wicked Gods. The plotline is unique compared to other books in the reverse-harem genre which made Daisy’s story refreshing and intriguing. I honestly could not put it down. Also, if you like your heroine with a backbone, you got yourself a winner with this one. Daisy is not the type to take shit from anyone which is essential as there are more bullies than friends at the Gifted Academy.
