Even more amusing than the anime because one can see a little more of what Jinshi’s thinking.

In this volume, Mao Mao uses one of the hairpins to visit her family. This is where we get introduced to her father and grandma but also get a short view of where she grew up.
There's not much happening, but we do get to learn some pretty crucial stuff. 
I'd definitely recommend this series so far.
