I’m a creeped out freezing mess. This book did what Malfi does - it’s creepy, gory, and scary as hell. I cared about each character and my heart raced as their situation became more dire. The snow became an ever-threatening presence. This book is one that will stick with me.

I read somewhere that this book had old-school horror vibes and I definitely agree! It’s a simple premise, à la The Mist, which tends to work for the genre. Todd is trying to get home to his son for Christmas, but a terrible snow storm has different plans. There are a few tense, cinematic moments throughout, but the ending in the hospital was a bit hoo-hum. The epilogue did redeem things a bit for me, and I enjoyed this overall.

All Over the Place
Scooby-Doo meets the Walking Dead- snow version.
This book was okay. There were a lot of odd parts in it including the bits of weird sexual tension (and flashback) between the main characters and the clunkiness with the character development of the snow creatures. The ending also was kind of disappointing.
