Ngl, the first half was pretty boring and it dragged a little but the second half made up for it! When I started the book I couldn’t really remember all the names of people and places (mostly my fault since it had been quite some time since I read FW) and Xaden and Violet’s arguing annoyed the crap out of me but once we got the action in part two, I was hooked. Tairn remains my favourite character because he is so sassy and his lines often made me laugh

I gave in and jumped on the hype train once again with this series. Fourth Wing was a mediocre read for me, and this one is not that much different, except that I could enjoy it more because I was entertained all the way through, despite it being quite a long book (even longer when you read it in German). My main issue is the lack of depth in this series. There are a lot of things happening, and you meet a lot of characters, but all just seems to happen on the surface, even the romance. And the immature-ex-girlfriend-behaviour-trope? No comment. The dragon banter, though? Give me more!
