So much to keep track of and I really enjoyed this one, but I kind of wish there was more to the ending of this novel. With one more novel to go and the main story "wrapped" up, I am curious to see how the story officially concludes.

I have never needed to stop and stare in shock so much at my kindle before. What an absolute weirdly epic chaotic splat of an adventure I've ever read. The amount of times I'd die laughing at everything Shen Qingqiu was thinking then immediately got back up to watch the most ridiculous 3am-brain sounding plot point hitting me right in the face was just incredible.

Side note: I can tell that this was written several years ago. It's just a fact that this is MXTX's first novel and, as EXTREMELY impressive as it is cuz this novel is absolutely insane, the main relationship is.... not the greatest in terms of boundaries. I mean, I've definitely read worse relationships in a LOT more young adult books than this but that's beside the point. Because of this, however, I would probably not recommend this novel to everyone and I would most likely just recommend starting with MDZS and TGCF (TGCF mainly lol). I would like to say again that I appreciate how much more respectful MXTX gets with the depictions of the relationships in MDZS and TGCF (this one ESPECIALLY). Also, MXTX's character work DEFINITELY improved a lot... and got five thousand times more traumatic. Honestly, I'm shocked that MXTX went from THIS BOOK to MDZS. Wow that's a jump.
