I felt quite bored trying to read it. I think I unfortunately bought into the BookTok hype 😢 But I will read the synopsis because I have seen some spoilers and they seem dramatic. Sorry!

I'm amazed I was able to finish this book at all. I really don't get the love and adoration for this story, it was unbearably boring with terrible and unlikable characters, and a story that goes on for far too long. There were a couple of small sections that were vaguely intriguing: A few pages leading up to Bunny's death (that's not a spoiler btw, you find out that info on page one); right after the death; some little bits towards the end, but they were all drowned out by everything else. There were so many parts of this book that could've been condensed or cut out all together, and it probably would've made the whole experience much more tolerable, or even enjoyable. The only way I was able to suffer through this novel was by listening to the audiobook, otherwise I probably would have given up finishing it.

The writing itself was good and very poetic at times, but the characters were just so unlikeable and it was soooo hard to get through. I just didn’t love the author’s voice, which I know is supposed to be Richard’s attitude but god I just hated it lol. I did find myself hooked at several different points in the book, but it was not a worthwhile read for me.
