SPOILERY REVIEW

cute but the ending was so anti climactic i didnt know it was happening until they got blood bended by the little sister. The ending felt a lot like a telenovela scene where everyone just gets shot. I wish the tension was built up better (both romance and plot wise). I found myself liking the side characters more. The two mcs just had an insta-love relationship and i wish that the healing process for vel was more realistic. Cute world building - the tithenai cultures specifically, i enjoyed.

Idrk have much to say abt this might listen to book 2 to see the full pic of the world

The perfect book for anyone who read and enjoyed The Captive Prince or A Taste of Gold and Iron.  Fantastic world building, subtle but delightful magical elements, well-developed characters making understandable decisions, and a great thread of political intrigue throughout.
